“All I know is was I was blind, but now I see.” It seems to me that admitting the places in our own lives where we are blind, might just be the most difficult thing to do. It is not too hard to identify places in others, in our society, in our culture where we believe there is blindness. However, to turn that question upon ourselves challenges our ego, identity and sometimes our beliefs. But this is the question that Jesus poses; where in your life are you blind? I know my own blindness has caused me to err or to assume some things and even upon seeing I have resisted the truth. It is never an easy transition—it almost always involves me letting go of something that I was holding on to so tightly. But in the light of this new vision I have witnessed God acting through others, my wife, children, friends, family, mentors, and have received such undeserved grace! Truly, the light of Christ shining through these people in my life. What a blessing it is to see. May the light of Christ shine brightly in those dark places of your life and may your vision cause you to give honor and glory to the One who has restored, rescued and renewed you.
